GALA 2021 will now take place on Saturday 31st July & Sunday 1st August
Friends of GALA,
Thank you for being so patient with us these past couple of months – we are now ready to share our plans for GALA 2021.
Firstly – we are feeling very optimistic about the summer. The days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer, the vaccine programme is flying, and most importantly covid cases are rapidly decreasing. As you will have seen from yesterday’s announcement though, restrictions on events of scale won’t be lifted until the 21st June.
Thankfully, towards the end of January we started making plans for a backup date as May was beginning to look more and more unlikely. We are now able to confirm that we will be moving the festival later in the summer to the weekend of Saturday 31st July & Sunday 1st August 2021.
We understand that this date change may be inconvenient for some, and for this we can only apologise. However, having spent the last few weeks weighing this decision up, and after a painstaking level of consultation, we are sure it’s the right call. It’s also worth saying – as one of London’s most intimate festivals – we believe we are in the best possible position to safely deliver GALA to its full potential this summer.
If you are happy to roll your tickets over – you don’t need to do anything – we will automatically move your tickets onto the weekend of 31st July – 1st August. All tickets purchased for either GALA 2020 or 2021 are valid for this summer’s festival.
Refunds are of course available for anyone who can no longer make the new dates. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to take one, and we will get back to you shortly. The deadline for refunds is 19th March. The remaining set of tickets for GALA 2021 will be back on sale next week from Thursday 4th March with the lineup announcement coming on Friday 26th February.
For now, stay safe – we’re nearly there!
