Mutual Future

GALA has developed our Mutual Future Wellbeing Strategy in collaboration with Don’t Be A Creep who are dedicated to creating a safe, harassment-free space for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, spiritual belief or religion, (or lack thereof).

Mutual Future consists of an event wellbeing plan, specialist in-house teams on site to execute the plan, an awareness campaign delivered by Don’t Be A Creep, and a post-event survey which feeds information back into our plan, and awareness campaign for the next year. Mutual Future is how we substantiate a zero tolerance policy towards assault, harassment and abuse; and create a culture of care and respect.

GALA endeavours to create an anti-racist and pro-LGBTQI+ space, we stand in solidarity with all communities and people who have experienced prejudice – Our objective is to make the environment as safe and inclusive as it can be. A festival can be a place of togetherness, compassion and care. It also creates risk felt most by marginalised communities and underrepresented people.

There is nothing more important than your wellbeing at the event. If something happens that affects it, or someone else’s – please follow these four steps.

SPOT

If you witness an incident or something happens to you personally go straight to the nearest security or welfare staff.

REPORT

There they will radio our in-house welfare response team who will come straight to your location.

RESPOND

Their response will be led by you / the person affected. Your wellbeing takes priority but If you also wish to identify the person responsible discreetly proportionate measures can be taken e.g. ejection.

RELIEF

Our designated Welfare Area is a safe(r), confidential and supportive space where you can stay as long as you like.

Don't Be A Creep

Your Welfare Team

Sometimes, it’s just reassuring to know that someone is there – you don’t need a specific reason to speak with our Welfare Team.

TTK Events manage the on-site welfare tent and have dedicated roaming staff across the festival grounds.

Since 2011, TTK has been supporting festival, event, and club attendees—providing a safe space to turn to for help, advice, or even just a moment of rest. The sole focus of TTK is on supporting you, no matter how big, small, simple, or complex a problem may be.

Mutual Future – Welfare Response

Our in-house welfare team is here to support you and your wellbeing. Led by Gemma—an experienced anti-violence practitioner and community activist with over 20 years in crisis and therapeutic support—our approach is rooted in care, harm-reduction, and justice for all.

Safe Only - LGBTQI+ Welfare & Security

The dancefloor is a space of possibility—where anyone can explore, connect, and be.

The Safe Only welfare team will operate in the Pleasure Dome on Saturday & Sunday. With 3 years’ experience across the UK, Safe Only provides peer-led welfare, SIA, and medic support—centred on harm reduction and inclusive, fair practice.

Our welfare and SIA teams are here with non-judgemental support, grounded in real experience of Queer party culture. If you need someone who truly gets it, we’ve got you.

Our welfare teams will be across the site at GALA and always approachable.

Supporting Academia

GALA was proud to have supported external national research into safety and security at music events last year, exploring what attendees thought happened at festivals and how security measures made them feel. The research was led by our very own KT, who was on site responding to any welfare-related incidents. Attendees were invited to complete two surveys (one before and one after the event) while contributing to making concerts and festivals safer for everyone.
