Covid-19 info & how to order free lateral flow tests
Entry Requirements at GALA 2021
Despite it not being a legal requirement to have a test, we know this is the safest way forward and doing so will help ensure our scene can stay open. Everyone attending GALA will therefore be required to show either:
- Proof of double vaccination (2 weeks+ after the second jab)
- Proof of a negative lateral flow test result (within 36 hours of entry).
- Proof of natural immunity if you’ve recovered from Covid-19 in the last six months.
If you have been double vaccinated you will need to present proof on the NHS Covid Pass. If you require a test, then a text message or email from the NHS confirming your negative result will need to be shown upon entry. For natural immunity we will accept proof of a positive test in the last six months.
Free NHS lateral flow tests can be ordered from here. Alternatively, you may be able to collect tests to then do at home. Upon completing your test, you must upload the result to the NHS Gov portal. It’s a relatively simple process and will mean you can dance freely inside knowing everyone around you is also Covid-free.
There are no testing facilities at the gates, so you must do the lateral flow test pre-event. If you do not have a Covid pass or test result to show on site, you will be directed to the nearest test centre or pharmacy to collect one and carry out your test. Your result must then be registered with the NHS government website.
Whilst you are at the event, if you become symptomatic, you should avoid contact with others, speak to medical personnel onsite for further assessment. You may be given a face covering and asked to go home and follow guidelines regarding isolating and obtaining a PCR test.
If you are experiencing any Covid symptoms, test positive for Covid 19 or you have been advised to self-isolate by NHS Test & Trace, please do not attend the festival.
Multiple sanitising stations will be present at the festival. If it makes you feel more comfortable to wear a mask then please do so, however, this is not a requirement.
