Stage Splits for GALA ’22
We’re obviously a little biased but we reckon this day truly has it all. Live performances will come from globally renowned international acts Little Dragon and Nu Genea on the main stage as well as South London’s KOKOROKO, Mansur Brown, Ojerime and Joe Armon-Jones.
National treasure Goldie plays Fabric’s takeover inside the Pleasure Dome alongside acclaimed producer on the rise Nia Archives and GALA favourite Shy One. We’ve locked in three glorious hours of Hunee on the brand new Giant Steps stage which will also host performances from jazz heavyweight’s Binker and Moses, Nubya Garcia and Sons of Kemet.
Bradley Zero will return to his favourite Patio stage, which, if you were there with us last summer – you’ll know is completely unmissable. Josey Rebelle, A Guy Called Gerald, OK Williams, Anu and 404 Eros complete the Patio’s bill ensuring the vibes will be nothing less than exceptional all day long. The people’s favourite Charlie Bones will also host a new spot and has invited several of his nearest and dearest along for the ride.
We don’t do headliners at GALA but if we did then DJ Harvey would probably top them all. Get ready for a spellbinding three-hour journey from one of the true dance music greats. Also on the main stage will be Donna Leake, Jamie 3:26, Secretsundaze and two of Germany’s finest – Damiano von Erckert and the always brilliant Move D.
Friday’s Patio promises some of the purest feel good vibes you’ve ever experienced at a festival with sets from Soichi Terada, Mafalda, Antal, Yen Sung, RAW SILK and Gerd Janson – who finally returns to GALA after three long years of waiting.
Working out how to follow on from Eris Drew and Saoirse’s electric set in the dome last summer wasn’t easy but with rave specialists Courtesy, Job Jobse and Shanti Celeste on hand we have a feeling the energy might just reach different heights in there. Meanwhile London’s very own Worldwide FM will takeover our brand new stage led by Gilles Peterson and hosting some of the foremost selectors in the game.
Is this our biggest main stage lineup ever? We certainly think so. A full day of high vibe party music – true GALA style – from the likes of Palms Trax, Leroy Burgess, Marcellus Pittman, Jeremy Underground, Tarzsa and Gabrielle Kwarteng.
The Patio stage boasts an all star cast with sets from heavyweights DJ Tennis and Roman Flügel, the majestic Powder, Bristol selector Danielle and Panorama Bar royalty Cormac. Horse Meat Disco return to their infamous Pleasure Dome inviting good pals Artwork, Luke Una, Jamie Bull, Michelle Manetti and Gina Breeze with Berlin house specialists Tama Sumo and Lakuti and the fabulous Sue Veneers Club dance troupe completing the lineup.
Rhythm Section have programmed an absolutely monster day in the park featuring Session Victim and The Colours That Rise who will both perform live alongside supreme selectors Pender Street Steppers, Paula Tape and Zakia with a RS b2b special from BZ and Hidden Spheres.
