Floating Points brings Sunflower Sound System to GALA’25

Today is a good day.

The weather is especially nice, summer is around the bend, and word is out that Floating Points’ stunning Sunflower Sound System is pulling up in Peckham Rye for GALA ‘25.

Four stacks, each four metres high, will be firing out high-fidelity sound on a brand new stage at the festival—featuring takeovers from Plastic People, Melodies International and Cosmic Slop with special guest appearances from Floating Points’ nearest and dearest all weekend long.

On top of making his highly anticipated GALA debut, Floating Points will present his newly designed Sunflower Sound System at a brand new stage in Peckham Rye Park. “Floating Points & Friends” brings together takeovers from Plastic People, Melodies International and Cosmic Slop with some of Floating Points’ nearest and dearest dropping by for special sets across the weekend.

The Sunflower Sound System, conceptualised and built by Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points, had its inaugural event in Leeds five months ago, part of the “Save Cosmic Slop” party, supporting the renowned local event and charity. Following this, the system was showcased at an NTS Square party last September, with special guests Caribou and Palms Trax.

Shepherd’s ambition for the project comes from a desire to “create a sound combining all the components and systems” he has loved playing on over the years.
