Designed by JAM in an ambitious collaboration with Giant Steps
Introducing our newest stage Beacons
Designed by architects JAM (a multidisciplinary studio recently spun out of Turner Prize winning practice Assemble) in an ambitious collaboration with Amit & Aneesh (Brilliant Corners, Giant Steps, mu), our newest stage will consist of four dramatic structures of varying heights and shapes.
Dancers will be able to climb into the structures, get up high and enjoy a completely different perspective and experience from each. The structures will be covered in translucent wrap, overlapping to create a kaleidoscope of colour when the light hits from both inside and out. When the sun sets, Beacons will fully illuminate Peckham Rye Park.
The stage not only seeks to enhance the crowd’s visual and immersive experience, but also looks to create a much greater connection between the dancefloor and its performers. We can’t wait to share the platform with you in just five weeks time.
Beacons will host takeovers from Giant Steps, Worldwide FM and Rhythm Section with performances from the likes of Hunee, Gilles Peterson, Nubya Garcia, Sons of Kemet & Bradley Zero.
